This month we have the pleasure of introducing you to one of our newest sponsored children, Pi.
Pi lives in a neighbouring suburb to Kaper with her mother and two younger sisters aged 18 months and two and a half years.
Pi’s mother and father divorced when she was younger and sadly Pi and her sisters haven’t seen or heard from their father since. While Pi’s mother works during the day to provide as much as possible for her daughters, with no home or land they are forced to live with Pi’s grandmother.
Pi is currently eight years old and is in grade one, she loves learning and going to school. To get to school Pi rides on the back of a motorbike.
Recently we’ve been able to provide Pi and her family with fuel documents and breakfast vouchers for the local shop to make it easier for Pi to attend school and eat a big, nourishing breakfast before she goes.
By sponsoring a child you have the opportunity to change the course of a child’s life and it is one of the most fulfilling experiences you will ever have. For less than one $1.00 per day, you can make the world of difference to a life and to a village.
